We pride ourselves in conducting internationally high-level research in the fields of computational medicine and medical bioinformatics. The sheer volume of data produced by modern biotechnologies has exploded in recent years and therefore improved methods are needed more than ever to understand these data. Our mission is to develop statistical and machine learning methods and computational software tools to address this growing need. Through the development of novel methods in computational medicine, it will be possible to successfully respond and adapt to coming global healthcare challenges. For instance, the use of artificial intelligence in the analysis of digital health data enables us to develop individual solutions for healthcare and the treatment of disease. Our ultimate goal is to improve the diagnosis, prediction, prevention and treatment of complex diseases, such as diabetes and cancer.

Our highly motivated interdisciplinary team is composed of mathematicians, computer scientists, data analysts and bioinformaticians, in addition to experts in the fields of biomedicine and biology. We also frequently work in close collaboration with both national and international biomedical researchers, medical professionals and biobanks.
